Lisa Daugherty

Executive Director

From an early age, Lisa has had an entrepreneurial spirit.  Her father was a business owner and she grew up learning that work ethic early in life. Since those formative years, Lisa has started, owned, operated, traded, sold, and managed numerous businesses.

After finishing school and attending some college, she married the love of her life, Scott in 1994 and they were off to military service while he served in the USMC.

In addition to being Executive Director here at Leaps and Bounds, Lisa is Vice President of Ping's Tree Service, Inc, and serves as the Secretary for Leap of Faith Ministries, Inc. It’s her love for children and desire to serve in ministry that led her and her husband, Scott, to start the daycare ministry in 2004. In May, 2005, they opened the location on High School Road. The second location was opened in 2012 at what was then the Joyful Manna Baptist Fellowship church building. Joyful Manna, was a ministry Lisa’s father planted, and together they expanded it to include the second daycare.

The Lord has blessed beyond measure at both locations. Lisa has enjoyed many years of faithfully serving in this ministry of loving and nurturing children. She looks forward to seeing what the Lord has in store everyday, and eagerly anticipates His purposes for this ministry in the coming years. When she’s not at work, Lisa enjoys crafts, sewing, singing, boating, and hiking, but, most of all, she loves spending time with her 5 beautiful children.

Rev. Phil Ping

Vice President, Leap of Faith Ministries

In addition to being Vice President of the board for Leap of Faith Ministries, Inc. which operates both Leaps and Bounds Christian Preschool and Daycare ministries, Rev. Philip Ping is a veteran of the United  States Army, where he trained as a helicopter mechanic. After leaving the Army and returning to Indianapolis, he was saved in a Nazarene Church here in 1973.

While ministering to youth and starting a family, Pastor Ping was a foundry worker at Indianapolis Chrysler Foundry. During that same time he also started a tree service. He is a father of four, three daughters and one son, with 9 granddaughters and 2 grandsons. His marriage of 26 years with his late wife Stephanie ended when she lost a battle with ovarian cancer in October of 2011.

Rev. Ping is an accomplished Certified Arborist along with 8 others on his staff. The tree company that they built together has been reported as the largest family owned tree business in the state of Indiana with over 70 employees and gross revenues exceeding 5 million dollars. He also sits on the Indianapolis/Marion County Tree Board as a consulting Arborist to the Mayor, City, and tree board.

Having successfully built a profitable tree service business, Rev. Ping answered the Spirit’s call to continue his education for ministry.  He earned his bachelors’ degree and then continued his education completing his Masters in January of 2015 with the Colorado Theological Seminary.

Rev. Ping has faithfully answered his call to ministry having served as associate pastor for more than 15 years. Additionally, he started a Spanish ministry that is still thriving today, and his work continues in nursing home ministries. While still honoring his responsibilities for his tree care company, the Lord lead him to start a new church plant, Joyful Manna Baptist Fellowship. That church has since merged with Velocity Church and is still growing and winning souls for Christ.

Rev. Ping is semi retired from his business, but uses an abundance of the profits and resources for ministry related donations and services. He recently returned from a 3 week missionary trip to Romania, this was his third trip there, the first being in 2013.

Rev. Ping is an accomplished business man, powerful preacher, leader in the community, wonderful father and grandfather, and is one of the most generous people you will ever meet.  He has a heart for the lost, and a love for the children in which we care for here at Leaps and Bounds.  He is dedicated to the Lord's service, and will continue to humbly and faithfully serve Him until he is called home.
